EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
1. Kahoot! - Educational Game Design
The use of interactive games and simulations for educational
purposes is referred to as education game learning, sometimes known as
educational gaming or serious gaming. To provide a fun and effective learning
experience, it integrates gaming and entertainment components with educational
information.
Kahoot! is a Norwegian game-based learning platform, used as
educational technology. It has learning games, also known as
"kahoots", are user-generated multiple-choice quizzes that can be
accessed via a web browser or the Kahoot! Kahoot! also includes trivia quizzes.
Kahoot is designed to be interactive, engaging, and enjoyable, making it an
effective tool for educational purposes, team-building exercises, and even
social events. It encourages active participation, knowledge retention, and
friendly competition in a digital environment.
2.
Tact Plus
The TactPlus is a Braille printer. Often used
by educational institutions, the portable printer precision-heats a specialty
foamed paper to create a page of Braille (or other 3D images) in one to two
minutes. The printer is also outfitted with audio instructions, to aid visually
impaired users.
3.
Interactive Whiteboard
An interactive whiteboard, also known as a
smart board, is a technological device that combines a traditional whiteboard
with computer capabilities to enhance collaboration, interaction, and
multimedia presentations in various settings such as classrooms, boardrooms,
and training rooms.
It is ideal for collaboration and
interactivity. No matter where a student may learn, interactive whiteboard can
create an engaging, active learning environment for students and teachers. With
interactive whiteboard students and teachers can interact directly with digital
content in multiple ways during lessons. For example, remote or in-class
students can use built-in annotation tools to draw and make notes on screen in
near-real time or share a wide variety of content types, including images and
videos.
Students stay immersed in technology. In a
modern, tech-focused society, students are constantly immersed in video and
technology. IFPDs take advantage of what students are already comfortable with
in their daily lives and channel it toward their education with video sharing,
online collaboration, and cloud connectivity.
4.
Virtual reality in education
The immersive and engaging learning
experiences that virtual reality (VR) can offer have the potential to
revolutionise education. Through innovative means other than textbooks and
lectures, it enables students to interact with instructional material. VR
enables active learning, which is a teaching methodology that involves
students’ full attention and participation as they learn by “doing” as opposed
to learning through alternative passive methods, such as listening to a
lecture.
5.
Virtual labs
A computer-based environment that simulates
actual laboratory investigations or scientific procedures is referred to as a
virtual lab, virtual simulation, or simply a lab. It offers pupils a digital
environment in which to carry out experiments, conduct scientific research, and
evaluate the outcomes.
Students engage with a simulated environment
in a virtual lab that closely resembles the tools, materials, and equipment
found in a real laboratory. Without the use of physical tools or chemicals,
individuals can move items, make observations, gather data, and carry out a
variety of tasks just as they would in a conventional lab. Instead, through
computer models and images, every component is virtually portrayed.
6.
Digital textbook
Digital textbook, also known as an e-textbook
or electronic textbook, is a digital version of a traditional printed textbook
that can be accessed and read on electronic devices such as computers, tablets,
e-readers, or smartphones. It offers the same educational content as a physical
textbook but in a digital format.
Digital textbooks can come in various forms,
including PDF files, e-book formats (ePub, MOBI, etc.), or interactive
platforms specifically designed for educational content. They may include text,
images, videos, interactive elements, hyperlinks, and other multimedia features
to enhance the learning experience.
7.
Social media for collaborative learning
Social media platforms can be effectively
utilized for collaborative learning, allowing students to engage in interactive
and cooperative learning experiences.
Some ways in social media can be support collaborative learning are
content sharing, virtual study group and also networking development.
8.
Canva
Canva is a versatile graphic design platform
that can be effectively used as a learning tool in various educational
contexts. Canva can be utilized in education by using in a visual presentations
and infographics
